US History - John Quincy Adams
When:The 6th President of the U.S. was John Quincy Adams was the son of John Adams and Abigail Adams. As an American diplomat he served both Senate and House of Representatives. Adams’ presidency was not nearly as effective as the 17 years he later served as an elected U.S. Representative of Massachusetts. He and his wife, Abigail, were both strongly opposed to slavery during their time. He was born on July 11, 1767, in Braintree, Massachusetts and died on February 23, 1848.
